JZUS-B专辑征稿:AI in Plant Phenotyping: From Cells to Fields
机器人的秘密探索

In April 2026, we are planning to publish a special issue on “ AI in Plant Phenotyping: From Cells to Fields” in the Journal of Zhejiang University-SCIENCE-B (Biomedicine & Biotechnology), JZUS-B for short. This special issue is organized by Profs. Zhenhai Li, Kun Wang, and Xuping Feng as Guest Editors-in-Chief, with the aim of advancing the frontiers of research in this area. To attract global attention, the special issue will be made available on SpringerLink and PMC, and indexed by SCI-E, MEDLINE/PubMed, Scopus, etc.

Key Topics:

Crop phenotyping refers to the quantitative characterization of plant traits (e.g., morphology, physiology, biochemistry) across scales, from cellular structures to field-level growth dynamics. Integrating AI, big data, and advanced imaging technologies, multi-scale phenotyping enables precision agriculture by bridging genetic potential with environmental interactions:

Cellular and Tissue-Level Phenotyping: Microscopy & Molecular Imaging, Omics Integration;

Plant and field-scale Phenotyping: High-Throughput Platforms, Drone & Satellite Synergy;

AI-Driven Data Analytics: Image Recognition, Monitoring Modeling;

Big Data Platforms: Multi-Source Fusion, Cloud Computing;

Case Studies & Challenges: Ecological Unmanned Farms, Data Standardization;

Future Directions: Multi-Omics Fusion, Edge AI, Global Collaboration.

Multi-scale phenotyping is revolutionizing agriculture by decoding the "language" of plants from cells to ecosystems. With AI and big data, it bridges lab research to field practices, offering sustainable solutions for global food security.

We warmly welcome submissions on the above topics from all over the world. Original studies will be complemented by a series of Reviews, Research Articles, Correspondence, etc.

About Us:

JZUS-Bis an international peer-reviewed journal co-published by Springer & Zhejiang University Press, which has entered JCR Q1 (2024 JIF=4.7)and CAS Q2, and ranks Top 2% in Scopus. JZUS-B aims to present the latest developments and achievements in the broad area of Biotechnology, and has a broad audience including experts in the field all over world. More information can be found at journal website:

Submission:

All manus are encouraged to submit before Oct 31, 2025and early submission is greatly appreciated.

All manus should be submitted via:

When submitting, please mark “ AIPP” (short for the special issue title “AI in Plant Phenotyping: From Cells to Fields”) before the article title, in order for us to collect the information correctly, and can also contact editors to tell the manu ID.

Manu guidelines can be found at the journal website:

All submissions must be written in English and will undergo rigorous international peer review. Many thanks for your kind understanding.
